Ive heard of it happening quite often actually. At one place it was lots of money. I don’t think they called the police.
In my opinion, we be spending down treasury so that a minimal prudent reserve is left. But that’s up the group to make sure that is being done. Plus, its also up to the group to really be clear on who is handling the treasury.
I think its more important for the group to learn from this event than to meat out individual responsibility.
What to do if the Treasurer makes off with the Treasury? Do I go with Tradition 6 and Concept 4? Or do we file a police report to get the money back? Being encouraged to report to police; is it old behavior not to want to do this? Or is it recovery to simply make people accountable for their transgressions? Need suggestions ASAP!
