What have you done lately to keep your spiritual awakening young, fresh and renewed?
Life
by Henry Van Dyke
Let me but live my life from year to year,
With forward face and unreluctant soul;
Not hurrying to, nor turning from the goal;
Not mourning for the things that disappear
In the dim past, nor holding back in fear
From what the future veils; but with a whole
And happy heart, that pays its toll
To Youth and Age, and travels on with cheer.
So let the way wind up the hill or down,
O’er rough or smooth, the journey will be joy:
Still seeking what I sought when but a boy,
New friendship, high adventure, and a crown,
My heart will keep the courage of the quest,
And hope the road’s last turn will be the best.

I have put time into others as a form of meditation
I just met with my sponsor and extended sponsee family for a pot luck and meeting in Long Beach. Its was along but apparently done every 3 months so it now I’ll be guided to expanding my recovery family. The new comers were especially refreshing.
Being therefor someone… when they need a place to stay somethng to eat or a shoulder to cry on.
Thats how i can keep my own spiritual life fresh and new. Yes faith without something to back it up is truly dead.
p.s. A high five to the Martin Luther King memorial dedication going on the Washington today, sunday. It might seem off topic from the program but not really – if ever anyone was “of service” – hello – Martin Luther King..words can’t even say..
referring to the 10/16 quote: i really like it – have been isoliated and actually feeling alienated by all the technology – email/facebook/texting – is there a person out there? wondering, okay, it’s a changed world, what do I do just step aside? guess not. must be the disease talking. have a nice day everybody. whoever and wherever you are. lol.
